either way in not seeing a pronounced difference in game play regarding this new mechanic.

MGs "suicidal"?
They're finally useful for killing 'mechs - with the new crit bonus damage to internal structure, a single MG does 1 DPS to armour, 3 DPS to internal structure, and 11 DPS to internal components. Strap four of those suckers on a nimble 'mech like the SDR-5K and you're all of a sudden doing 12 DPS to internal structure - that's plenty enough to kill provided the target's armour is breached, and the 5K can use a LL to ensure that it is.
First drop of the new patch in my 5K netted me three MG kills (I made very sure I wasn't firing the LL once armour was breached - I've been arguing and campaigning for a useful MG since closed beta, so this is pretty important to me).

This is not fiction... I wish it were.

Wow. If your numbers are accurate then a MG went from being not very useful to massively overpowered in one patch.
3 DPS on internal structure makes one MG more effective than any energy weapon and puts it near the top of ballistics. A gauss rifle is 3.75 DPS. Except a light mech can throw 4 of these on and continuously fire them with huge amounts of ammo, no heat and no significant tonnage.
In addition, you cite 12DPS against internal components which exceeds the damage from any other weapon in the game.
You may have been arguing for more effective machine guns but if your numbers are accurate then they are now the most OP weapon currently in the game.

I was saying that back when they were doing 0.8 damage per second, because if you just flick a switch on engine crits the instant you lost your CT armor, you'd lose your mech to 4 MGs. The posts in here by Selfish are interesting, too, which cooberate what Stjope has said. http://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/130473-please-explain-to-me-the-crit-change/page__pid__2634043 I know in my example I'm quoting a real instance where 2 MGs and 6 SL literally destroyed this Atlas's AC/20 instantly. I reasoned the SLs must have done quite a bit of work, but Selfish used the averages to tell me that the MGs did most of it.

To increase that performance, don't lead the MGs. They hitscan like lasers.

What about actuators?
Wouldn't this mean lasers got a buff of sorts?
